DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN



This tutorial was written by me on April 6th 2023.

My ideas are my own.

Any similarity to another is purely coincidental & unintentional.

A basic knowledge of PSP is required.

Supplies Required -

Tube of choice, one with an image layer works best. I used one by Jasmine Becket Griffin, I purchased mine at CILM but her tubes can now be purchased at CDO – HERE 

Scrap Kit or Elements of choice.

The one I used is FTU by Simply Vicki you can get it – HERE 

Font of choice, the one I used is called Equality Serif, it can be downloaded - HERE 

Wordart – right click and save.

Filters Used:-

Eye Candy – Gradient Glow.

Xero – Porcelain, Default settings.

DSB Flux – Linear Transmission.

Drop Shadow used throughout with these settings,

V – 5

H – 5

Opacity – 25

Blur – 15

Colour – Black

Let's begin.

Open new image 800x800

With your ellipse tool draw out a circle, line style – solid, width 10. Foreground colour white, background null. (see finished tag for size reference)

Convert to raster, with your magic wand tool click inside the circle, selections, expand by 3.

Copy and paste your tube image as a new layer, position as preferred, selections, invert, delete. Drag under the circle layer.

On your circle layer with your magic wand click inside, selections expand by 3. Make a gradient with a dark and light colour from your tube layer.

Add a new layer and flood fill with the gradient.

Selections none. Layers, arrange, move to bottom.

On your image layer change blend mode to overlay.

Apply Xero - Porcelain with the default settings.

On your circle layer apply a gradient glow with these settings




Merge visible.

Move to the left, duplicate and resize by 45%

move to the upper right of your main image layer.

Duplicate again and resize by 85% move down

Repeat the above steps, see finished tag for placement.

Once happy with your placement merge visible.

Duplicate on the bottom layer go to Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur, 10.00

Apply DSB Flux - Linear Transmission

with these settings



Choose the elements you want to use, resize accordingly and place as you want, see finished tag for my placements.

I used elements 21, 33, 52, 53, 60 & 61.

Add the wordart.

Merge visible.

Add your copyright info.

Add your text to the tag & merge and save as png.
